Blog Tour – Review/Guest Post/Giveaway: Beneath This Mask by Meghan March

Title: Beneath This Mask

Author: Meghan March

Release Date: September 29th 2014.

About the Book

My name is Charlotte Agoston, and I’m a runner. Not the ‘let’s go for a jog and slap a 26.2 sticker on your bumper’ kind of runner; I’m the kind of runner who takes off when her father is staring down the barrel of a guilty verdict that carries a 175-year sentence for perpetrating the largest fraud in the history of the world. That’s right. Bernie Madoff was an amateur compared to Alistair Agoston.

Faced with living under a cloud of suspicion and constant questioning by the FBI, I ran. I’m making a new life in New Orleans as Charlie Stone. I traded my future in New York high finance for tattoos, booze, a few friends who don’t ask questions, and one giant mutt named Huckleberry Finn. Everything is simple and uncomplicated until Simon Duchesne—former hotshot Navy fighter pilot, NOLA’s favorite son, city councilman, and rumored congressional hopeful—walks into my life.

The flashing cameras he attracts threaten to expose everything I’m hiding, but I can’t seem to stay away. Why are the most dangerous ideas always the most seductive?

In trying to get lost, I found myself. And then I found Simon. He loves me, and he doesn’t even know my real name. I’m going to break his heart, but mine will shatter right along with it. This is our story.

Will we be strong enough to face the consequences of revealing what’s beneath this mask?

I’ll always consider myself a reader first and a writer second. I fangirl just as hard as anyone over my favorite authors and squee when they like my Facebook statuses (I may or may not have taken a screen shot when Kresley Cole liked one of my posts!). And I also count the days until certain books release and then stay up until midnight to watch them hit my Kindle. Sleep is trivial compared to devouring a book I’ve been waiting months to read.

So, without further ado, here are ten books (in no particular order) I CANNOT wait to read:

  1. Dead of Winterby Kresley Cole
  2. Reaper’s Standby Jo Wylde
  3. Deepby Kylie Scott
  4. Undyingby Madeline Sheheen
  5. Filthy Beautiful Lust by Kendall Ryan
  6. Echoes of Scotland Street by Samantha Young
  7. Dirty Rowdy Thingby Christina Lauren
  8. Silver Bastardby Jo Wylde
  9. You Only Love Twiceby Lexi Blake
  10. Goal Lineby Bianca Sommerland

I could keep this list going for days, but since you only asked for ten, I tried to exercise some amount of self-restraint. It wasn’t easy. Bikers, rock stars, tatted-up bad boys, mercenaries, hockey players, or just straight players—bring ’em on! I love them all. What books are you most excited to read?

Original‚ very well written‚ inventive and sexy.

Beneath This Mask tells us a story about a young woman Charlotte Agoston‚  now Charlie Stone who is starting from the beginning in the new town with new name and completely different appearance.

And then one chance meeting happens in which she meets him‚ Simon Duchesne a good looking politician and former Navy Seal. As the time passes by and they start to spend it more and more‚ Charlie´s secrets start to come to the surface.

The characters are well crafted and engaging and I very much enjoyed getting to know them more as the story progressed.

Meghan has a captivating and very pleasant writing style to read and I am looking forward to read more from her in the future.

Meghan March is a Michigan native who has spent a good portion of her life buried in a book. Case in point: she read the entire romance section of her small town public library by age fourteen. Even after growing up (sort of) and getting a law degree, she never lost her passion for a great story, twisty plot, epic romance, and amazing characters. When she’s not writing, she’s probably reading, target shooting, drooling over fast cars, playing with her crazy mutt, or hanging with her very own sexy bad boy.

Crazy Research for Royally Lost
There’s always bizarre research when writing books, and I work hard to make sure the details are accurate. The most unusual research I did was figuring out what type of underwear a prince would wear. It’s not a naughty scene, but is pretty funny. I ended up having to find someone from Europe to answer that question.
I also needed to figure out what teenagers would order from cafes in Vienna, what to call a motorcycle in Europe, and how a prince’s personal assistant would address him. Special thanks to Nichole Chase, author of Recklessly Royal and numerous other royal books, for helping out.
Determining Nikolai’s ancestry was fun. I made him a descendant of the Hapsburg family who were major players in European history. The matriarch, Maria Teresa,
was known for marrying her children off to other royal families. She had about
sixteen kids, including Marie Antoinette. That match didn’t work out so well.
Another tricky thing was figuring out actual travel times and modes of transportation from different cities. I learned all about how to take the train from Prague to Nurenberg and transfer to the airport.
During the editing process, my publisher had a copy editor fact check every detail. I felt sorry for her, but she did a great job. She even caught a few things I got wrong. I love that woman!
Thank you so much for hosting me on your blog today. I hope everyone enjoys reading Royally Lost as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Fragile Line is a very pleasant surprise.

Brooklyn has for sure done a very nice job in writing this book with such sensitive topic.

Ellie´s journey is compelling and at the same time very intriguing and mysterious. Her story sucked me in pretty fast and kept me on the edge and wanting to see what will happen next.

A unique and poignant YA story.
