About the Book

Born into wealth and privilege, free-spirited Liv Quinn left it all behind when she realized there was more to life than living off of trust funds and barely skating by.  Since then, she’s worked and fought for everything she’s earned and never looked back at the world or the family she left behind.

Jackson Reid is starting over with a new job in a brand new city.  A single father to his son Noah, he hopes the change will help strengthen the bond that has seemed to suffer since puberty reared its ugly head.  What he hadn’t planned on was Liv—his exotic next-door neighbor who drives him insane with her wild, new age lifestyle, but still manages to leave him aching for more.

As challenges arise and feelings intensify, will these neighbors be able to look past their differences and find a middle ground?  When love comes knocking, will they be ready, or not?

Review

One guy—forever?

It sounded so permanent.

Funny‚ sweet‚ thoughtful and addictive with enough drama‚ intensity and intrigue to have you flipping page after page to see what will happen next.

J.L. Berg has once again knitted an incredible story with well-rounded characters that you can´t get enough of. With each next book she releases her writing gets more deeper and richer and eloquent and her stories just pull you in.

She might be the girl next door, but she was definitely not my girl next door. I needed normal and Liv with the vibrant tattoo and crazy flower beds seemed to be anything but.

Liv and Jackson… These two are something else. Something truly amazing. I just couldn´t get enough of them and the strong banter they shared. Their relationship started as playful‚ snarky‚ fiery but it quickly turned into something much more. Watching them trying to one up the other was so gripping and funny.

They both are well-thought‚ well-crafted characters with rich and unique depth. Both of them weren’t ready for each other and for love but soon they will realize that the unexpected love that crawled into their hearts when they least expected it is worth fighting for.

Olivia Prescott was mine – forever. Convincing my free-spirited hippie girl that she was taken for good might be challenging.

Liv is a sassy‚ carefree‚ funny‚ caring‚ strong willed‚ independent young woman who wanted to follow her dreams no matter what her dad thought about it. She left the old life in which she was controlled to follow her dreams and passion. But all she has been through left her with issues that made her build the walls around herself really high.

Jackson is a single dad whose center of attention is his son. His son is his whole world and No1 priority.  He is fully devoted to him. He is a guy who is not afraid of commitment or love. Before he moved to new town his life was flat and in a way boring but that all changed fast when he met his new neighbor.

They are different in so many ways yet so perfect for each other.

Sometimes, what you needed in life was waiting for you where you’d least expected it. Sometimes, it was right next door.

Ready or Not is another beautiful story that easily had me glued to it and anxiously waiting to see what will the next chapter bring. I was definitely not in the least bit disappointed.
