Top 10 Things I Love About My Characters
1) Loyalty. It’s them against the world, no matter what. They always have each others backs and I really love that. Everyone needs friends like these!
2) Love. They love hard and they’re not afraid to show it.
3) Laughter. There is nothing they enjoy more than a good laugh—most especially if it comes from taking the piss out of each other!
4) Courage. They might be scared but when it comes down to the wire, no matter who it is, they always dig deep and find a way to face their fears.
5) Differences. Each and everyone of them are all different. They all have their own quirks that make them funny, lovable and endearing.
6) Mac. She is fierce. She is one woman who is not afraid to tell it like it is. Sometimes it comes at the expense of tact, but her heart is in the right place.
7) Quinn. She is sometimes reserved but when in the company of friends, she is learning how to be herself. She’s kind and sensitive.
8) Travis. He is very charismatic. He knows what he wants and how to get it. Underneath the tough, badass exterior, he loves hard, he’s protective and very charming!
9) Evie. She’s a little bit wild. Has a tendency to go rogue when the situation calls for it. She’s loud, funny and loves to have a good time.
10) Jared. He’s playful, funny and sometimes serious. Fiercely loyal, he loves his job and Evie.
There are so many characters in the Give Me series and they all have their individual personalities. None of them are perfect, but they are all accepting and I love them all! Writing about their lives is something I enjoy and it hardly feels like work at all. When I get caught up in their day to day lives, it’s like I am right there, living it with them.
About the Author
Kate McCarthy grew up in a small town outside of Port Macquarie, Australia. Raised in a house just a short walk to the beach, Kate enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and friendships that come from being raised in a friendly, small town area.
She now resides in Brisbane, Australia, a city in the state of Queensland where she works as an accountant, along with a sideline wedding cake business and her writing.
She is married with two children, has two dogs and house in the suburbs, and a pile of friends and family dotted all over the country that help keep her sane.
When she’s not busy running after naughty kids, filthy dogs, crunching numbers, piping buttercream and writing books, you can find her curled up in bed in the early hours of the morning reading new books and re-reading old favourites. Her favourite books are the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward in which she longs to eventually join the brotherhood and change her name to Phierce Mutha.
